Cloning a website can be useful for testing, creating backups, or setting up a new site with the same structure. Here’s how you can easily clone a web application to the same server using CloudStick.
Steps to Clone a Website:
- Log in to CloudStick Dashboard
Begin by logging in to your CloudStick account. - Select the Server
From the dashboard, select the server where the website you want to clone is hosted. - Go to the Websites Section
Click on the Websites option from the server menu. - Access the Clone Feature
In the list of websites, locate the one you want to clone.
Click the Action Menu (three dots) next to the website name and select Clone Web App. - Configure Clone Settings
A popup will appear with options to configure the clone:- Select the Same Server: In the first dropdown, choose the server where you want the clone to be placed (in this case, select the same server).
- Clone Type: Choose Custom as the clone type.
- Enter Web App Details: Provide the following information:
- Web App Name: The name for the cloned web application.
- Domain Name: The new domain name for the cloned site.
- System User Name: Assign a system user for the clone.
- Select Database to Clone
From the database dropdown, select the database associated with the original web application. When you select the database, CloudStick will automatically create a new database for the cloned site and restore a backup from the selected database. - Complete the Clone
Once all the fields are filled in, click on Clone to start the process. CloudStick will handle the rest, and your cloned site will be ready shortly. Please note, that the clone feature does allow you to preform multiple sites at a time.
