CloudStick offers seamless integration with CloudFlare to simplify DNS management for your websites and subdomains. This article explains how CloudFlare integration works and how it interacts with your CloudFlare account when managing DNS records via the CloudStick dashboard.
How CloudFlare Integration Works
1. Adding a Website to CloudFlare
- After integrating your CloudFlare account with CloudStick, you can select your CloudFlare account from a drop-down menu when adding a website.
- If the domain is not already added to your CloudFlare account:
- CloudStick will automatically create a DNS zone in your CloudFlare account for the website.
- If the domain exists in the selected CloudFlare account:
- CloudStick will update the A record of the domain to point to the CloudStick server’s IP address.
2. Managing Subdomains
- When creating a subdomain, you can select a CloudFlare account from the available drop-down menu.
- CloudStick will perform the following actions:
- If the A record for the subdomain does not exist:
- It will automatically create a new A record for the subdomain in your CloudFlare account.
- If the A record for the subdomain already exists:
- It will update the existing A record to point to the CloudStick server’s IP address.
- If the A record for the subdomain does not exist:
3. Setting Up Email Authentication Records
- While setting up email authentication (e.g., SPF, DKIM, and DMARC) for your website, you can choose a CloudFlare account from the drop-down menu.
- If the domain exists in your CloudFlare account:
- CloudStick will automatically add all the necessary DNS records for email authentication.
- If the domain does not exist in your CloudFlare account:
- CloudStick will skip adding the domain or any associated DNS records to the CloudFlare account.
